Welcome to the KNIP OfficeKNIP (Dutch: Kleine Natuur Initiatief Projecten: Small-scale Nature-protection Initiatives Projects) is a bilateral financial instrument from the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. It allows its staff at embassy level worldwide to support local or regional initiatives relating to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in the region. Initiatives supported may vary by country but will be in line with BBI objectives (Dutch: Beleidsprogramma Biodiversiteit International: International Policy program Biodiversity). Its implementation strategies are strengthening bilateral relations between the Netherlands and the receiving country, supporting policy development, strengthening of civil society, exchanging of information and capacity building. The KNIP instrument is focussed on both Matra countries (Dutch: Maatschappelijke Transparantie: Social Transformation) as well as OS (Dutch: Ontwikkeling Samenwerking) priority countries. |
